Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Spares for Salomon Boots?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
This afternoon I was cruising down an easy red on my way back to Reberty from Val T. Snow was soft and a bit slushy but I didn't have a care in the world, just admiring the view and trying to decided what kind of beer I'd have at the hut a few hundred metres below. Then I caught an edge and went sprawling down the slope. No harm done so I carried on down to the bar and decided on a large beer. Half way through my beer I noticed that one of my boot clips wasn't there anymore. I finished the beer and did a loop back round to see if I could find it but didn't have any luck with that. Two questions now -

Does it matter that one boot is missing one clip. It's the second one up from the toe. Boot felt a little lose after losing it but tightening the top two buckles seemed to help.

And does anyone know where I can buy a replacement buckle? The boot is an X Max 120.

Thanks.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

nope - shouldn't make any difference. I rarely have those 2 clips done up. The whole point of those 2 bottom clips is just to keep snow out. Should be fine Happy

You should be able to get a replacement. Ask at any shop that has those boots. You might even be able to get some funky colour ones

You absolutely don't need an instep clip if your boots fit correctly. They only give you cramp anyway. I've been missing one for years and never fasten the one on tother boot.

@RobW, thanks for the link. I've ordered the Swedish buckles as they look most like the original colour scheme.
