Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski hire via Crystal in Selva

Poster: A snowHead
Will be hiring for the first time in a few weeks as the ski carriage had sold out (apparently there was only space for 25 pairs on this particular flight!)

Initially didn't mind after two hellish airport experiences in Jan, thought lugging skis would be one less hassle!

Have read reviews here that one ski hire place doesn't seem to have good skis- bit shabby. I know from a friend that usually hires skis that you don't get a choice of which rental shop you use as Crystal just give you a receipt and tell you where to go (no punn intended! ).

Am staying in Chalet Salvan just up the hill from Luiskeller; anyone know which ski hire shop we're likely to get sent to and if it's ok? Think we should arrive mid afternoon on the Sat so will be straight to the hire shop!

My skis are ladies skis -K2 Superfree- what are my chances of getting something similar? We've paid for intermediate ski hire.

I know we would have had more choice booking ski hire independently (especially as I saw a shop doing my specific skis last year) but Crystal had an offer on for a lift pass and ski hire combo.

Very Happy

Not quite, more just up the hill from La Stua.

Ask Crystal who they use now, it always was http://www.scuolasciselva.com/en/, but could now be http://www.scuolasci-selva.it/en/presentation.html. Both provide ski hire.

I know Selva, but I've not been there with Crystal.

This is the one they were using two years ago. Very modern shop with good equipment

It is on the Main drag, just downhill from Ciampinoi bubble

But, as Mollerski has said, email Crystal -- may have changed....!

p.s. Google StreetView is available in Selva

@MCL,
Try contacting the Chalet. They might have a deal (or a recommendation) for a local hire shop.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We have been twice this year, we used ski 2000 at Xmas, and felt skis were a bit substandard for the price (rusty bindings, and a re visit for change of skis) but they use a shop a little further down the village, olgas, and we have used these before, and been very pleased with quality and service, so asked to have skis from there for our February visit. You will get a call the week before travel from resort rep, mention it to him, or on the transfere coach, wasn't a problem for us!! Say hi to Tom and Sophie from Barry and Liz snowHead

I might be wrong but I think you can get details of hire shops Crystal use by downloading their ski app which I found useful when skiing earlier this season. Either that or calling Crystal directly.
