Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Last February I got €595.00 for £501.64 (£1 = €1.18 ). Just ordered my currency today for our departure on 8th February and got €658 for £501.45 (£1 = €1.31). That is a good few extra beer tokens. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I've paid for flight and apartment but still have 5xski passes, ski hire and lessons to buy in resort- we are chuffed as we'll save alot.
Its good for the resorts too as we'll definitely spend the saving on eating out one extra time.

If we buy our ski passes from the rep on the transfer bus will they be at the resort price and charged in Euros ? (Can't remember if we've been charged in £ or Euros before) Or would we be better to buy them from the ticket office in resort ?

@JanA, I suggest you look up the price of the pass you want online and if the rep wants more than that get them yourself. Unless the lift pass office is very hard to get to, of course, but that is not usual for obvious reasons. I have never been over-charged by a rep, by the way.

@musher, @Scarpa, so are we. Although the estate agents don't seem too keen on sending out more info on properties. On top of Rightmove, what property websites should I be checking for Austria?

It's very rarely cheaper to buy from TO when booking your holiday as they hedge themselves with a poor rate. Occasionally in N America, there are bulk-buying discounts that they pass (a proportion) on to you.

On the transfer bus, they usually charge the resort price, handy if you check this beforehand for comparison. Watch out though, if you pay by card, they sometimes apply a dodgy 'company' exchange rate and you get charged an unfavourable amount in £.

The only advantage of buying from the rep is that they sometimes have passes on the bus, so you can have it in your hand ready for first lifts in the morning...or the liftpass office is miles away from the accommodation and they'll bring them to you at breakfast. There is usually a liftpass office next to the main lift bases, so you might as well buy them yourself. There's always a chance of adverse weather and lift links not running, you would then have a different purchase to a standard 6-day pass.

They're always keen for you to buy through them, there must be a small kickback...or maybe free/discounted passes for staff if they put a certain amount of business the lift company's way.
