Going on my first Ski Season this year and am writing a blog which I'd like you all to check out and comment your thoughts!
www.powderpursuit.blogspot.com
Also do you have any advice for a first timer? And as I'm writing the blog for people like you guys, is there anything you'd like to hear about?
Thanks for reading,
Safe Shredding,

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Three pieces of advice:
A gumshield is actually a useful piece of kit. I know more than one person who never skis without them and have seen the damage that can occur when you nee yourself in the chin and don't have one.
Don't drink to much the night before and miss a powder day.
Stop capitalising "ski season".
Have fun.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@henryhole, not much to add but just viewed the blog and the Ale coloured pants are a very appropriate choice.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Not quite sure what you mean by your comment there @Kelskii, It seems the 'community' of snowheads are very quick to dive on newcomers!

@pam w, Thanks for the advice Pam
Initially I had very little to write about but I'm gradually moving into more 'snow focused' posts.
I agree that I have been upfront on Snowheads about whom it is i work for which may have been an oversight. Though I don't intend to mention the TO on my blog.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

not sure I'd agree with that. The idea of "working a season" interests a lot of people on SHs - quite a few have done it, others would like to. What you were doing before, the reasons for deciding to do a season, the process of job hunting - all that would interest people, I'd say.

Thanks for this
I'm going to write something about job hunting when I get out to resort aswell as why I chose to do a season. @pam w,

You know it makes sense.

A tip? Mothball the blog now.
Many on here will remember my assurances of updates as to snow, my working life and all else however I made a handful of ppsts once I got into the Alps. Between skiing, socialising and working there is so much to do in a first (and only) season that the notion of dedicating time to a blog is quite wrong.
Get out there, forget about us and make the most of a once in a lifetime opportunity.

@henryhole,
My only tips would be to look at all of the other ski season blogs (and there are many). Use them as a means to identify (including asking your mates to critique them too) what worked in their design and content and what didn't and also to find your own unique angle 'cos let's face it, you're not the first one to do a ski season and write a blog about it. Therefore in order to make it engaging and interesting to anyone outside your closest friends and relatives will be a lot more of a challenge than you think
IMHO Steve Angus's posts would be a good place to start and Wayne Watson's diary is also fairly decent.
Edit: And seeing as you've posted in off-piste, if you harbour any thoughts of going off-piste, don't be an idiot; get a decent shovel, probe and transceiver and learn how to use them. I've known too many seasonnarres not do this
