ok so what are the actual differences between the sweet trooper and igniter
im kind of stuck, love the look of these two lids but why look at one over the other?
put price aside. if one is notably better than the other then thats the one

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

They are both similar fit but the Trooper is a much better helmet ( carbon in the top part of the shell ) the Ignitor has better ventilation. Both have a Mips version which is reckoned to give better protection.
I have the Sweet protection Rooster ( slightly different fit but no ventilation and find it ok while at CFe ) and similar type of construction to the Trooper.
Both are excellent helmets but if you ski hard/fast or off-piste then the Trooper would be the better option IMO.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

As @speed098, says, the trooper is about half carbon fiber construction. I believe the igniter is an all plastic shell. The trooper has Sweets "Occi-grip" adjustment - little ratchet type clip at the rear whereas the igniter is adjusted with fit pads.
I have a standard trooper and full face rocker (rocker is a kayak trooper, trooper is a snow rocker), use both for whitewater kayaking and the trooper for skiing too. They've taken some fair hits kayaking and i've replaced one once following a series of big hits. Head's still good though, and i'm a Sweet customer for the foreseeable future
My advice would be to go and try them both on and get the one that fits the best. The sweet range are excellent but do vary in shape between models for the same sizes. I have a friend who can't wear a L/XL rocker a L/XL wanderer fits perfectly.

cool man, is the trooper badly ventilated?
i don't like saying it, but i do ski fairly hard. off piste and a little ski mountaineering.
sounds like its gonna be a mips trooper then.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

i tried on a M/L trooper recently and even with the adjuster all the way in it was too big so I'm pretty confident on the S/M but I'm ordering online but i can return it easy enough.
the only other helmet i have looked at was a smith vantage but i think the sweet is top of my list

I would agree re the fit in different models.
I had a Rambler a few years ago and didn't get on with the fit, got an Igniter MIPS the other week and the fit is spot on.

There's a little ventilation on the new models - two small vents at the front in the plastic, nothing in the carbon top shell. My few years old trooper has none whatsoever.
I run warm and get on fine with it though.
