vinerower, skiing-wise the MBU pass provides access to the top cable car at Grands Montets and to the Aiguille du Midi. For a few days, the Le Pass should be more than enough.
Yes, I don't think it's going to be a problem, especially after what the next 24 hours is forecast to bring. I'd forgotten that the Chamonix pass covers Le Tour and Brevent-Flegere too, plenty to keep us occupied there.

That chair was indeed a bit chilly today. Good conditions on le tour today though. Most pistes in good shape and found some soft stuff off to the side. Vid came and went a few times but the snow conditions were so good it didn't spoil it.
@vinerower as others have said plenty on the le pass ticket to keep you occupied and if this storm rolls in you'll have a fab time.
Great few days and I think I might be back same time next year. Enjoy folks.
Aye, fairly relaxed now! Should be plenty of snow to play around in. Hope you had a good one.

And stopped around 7am while I was standing on my balcony watching the snow fall. Looking at the coverage on the trees, not a whole lot of snow fell at valley level last night, although it did feel surprisingly warm on the balcony, so maybe some of it has just melted.
Started up again a few minutes ago, nice big flakes this time

Boom-chicka-bow-wow! That's how good the snow is at Brevent today. Only one chairlift and two pistes open but not that many people, so plenty of place to play between and to the sides of the pistes in creamy shin- and knee-deep snow. There's also ankle-deep snow on the pistes. Of course, it's all heavily chopped up now but that just means lovely, soft bumps to play in.
Two hours in and fixx had a wee tumble, losing a ski and tweaking a knee. So back to town to see her to safety, grabbing a quick bite and then heading back up the mountain.

Yep, back in my warm apartment now, knee in brace, anti-imflammatories taken, and feeling a little better already. Big thanks to Zero G for escorting me home safely.
The snow was indeed lovely! And visibility no problem. Rather gutted I couldn't stay out longer - I could still ski, just, but it hurt, so no point pushing it.
And the lost ski was from after the fall, when I had to kick off both skis before I could move my leg and relieve the pressure on my knee, at which point one ski decided to jump off down the hill a little bit - how inconsiderate!
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@fixx, ouch! Top marks for even going up this morning. Did you find your ski.

So, I went back up Brevent after a super quick lunch and it was much busier than in the morning – I think all of Cham ESF and their clients were there for the afternoon lesson session
But the snow was still great (bumps were even bigger but still very soft) and the number of people meant I had a bit of practice precisely controlling my turns. What a fantastic day! Thighs are burning now but storm skiing is, by far, my favourite type of skiing
jbob, yes, her ski was about 100 metres below us and easily visible.
You know it makes sense.

What's not to love! Fresh snow falling continuously, adequate visibility, warmish temps, and generally not that many people about.

Typo? I would have said 10m - no way could I have walked down 100m in deep snow with my knee as sore as it was!
Though if you always overestimate that much it must make you a big hit with the guys
jbob I did the same and worse last season, so at least I already had a knee brace, and I could tell straight away there was no ligament damage, phew!
I'm very much in agreement withZero_G about the snow today - it was great skiing while I could! Not too cold, easy to see through the falling snow, nice and quiet on the slopes, and plenty of lovely snow! Gutted I had to leave early, grrrr!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Definitely typo! Doesn't mean I'm not a hit with the guys, thoug....
Still snowing! There's enough snow in town now that I passed a few snowmen on the way home from dinner.
Tomorrow we're heading to shhhh to get far from the madding crowds and the likely limited lift opening in the Cham valley.
@Zero_G, keep the updates coming , out on Monday , planning to hit the slopes by lunchtime , thinking brevent for a warm up ,
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have to add, for the first time ever in my time in Cham, the Cham lifties were asking people if they understood what was closed and what was open and to stay within the safe zones and not stray off piste. Once of the local mountain guides who runs avi courses posted on Twitter that all of the lift closures is a surefire way to keep the lemmings from killing themselves. Darkly, aptly funny.
Hoping the steady spread of snowfall over the next few days will be a positive factor , instead of it all falling in one large event , stay safe and enjoy what's safely on offer

@Dabber, unfortunately, this is not what would typically be described (at least, what's forecast isn't) as a steady fall of snow. It's heavy snow storm/showers all arriving in a bit of a once, with high winds.
Not a good combination at all...

@Dabber, at least temporarily, yes. If you look today, not so much is open - whether due to high winds or security I don't know. Also, because of the existing snow pack, lots of stuff is rather unstable so off piste may be ill advised for while.

Brilliant day at Brevent today! Ok, the lifts didn't open until 11am, but so few people were there because of that, it was really quiet, with ooodles of fresh snow! We even found a completely untracked little path for our final run. And my knee held together, phew
Loved it.

So, our plan to go to [censored] today was scuppered as the area was closed due to avi danger (we're hoping we can ski that virgin powder tomorrow). A Quick check of the Cham lifts status revealed limited options.
Figuring the masses would head to Les Houches and not relishing the queues, we opted for Brévènt again and arrived at the base station at 9.30am. The lift wasn't running and we could still hear blasting up top, so we settled in for a wait.
It snowed so much last night that the benches were buried, so out came the avi shovel.
fixx digging out the bench. Little did we know that this was to set the tone for the day.
Sitting on our newly unburied bench, we quickly grew cold and were expecting a minimum 90-minute wait until the lifts opened. Distraction was needed – something that would be both fun and warming. So we built a snowman. But it was no ordinary snowman and we provided a bit of amusement for the 20 or so other people waiting for the lifts.
Me, forming our snowman
fixx and Sven, waiting, waiting, waiting...
It didn't take long for fixx to make a move on Sven
Sven was a hit! People took pics, children posed with him and new arrivals did double-takes.
For the love of... when will the lifts open?
With project Sven completed and still an hour to go, we resorted to snowball fights, snowball tennis, snowball baseball and snowball cricket. At one point, a group of young scandie men lobbed a snowball at Sven. This meant war! fixx attempted a riposte but accidentally hit an innocent bystander on the back. I almost peed my pants trying to both suppress my laughter and look all innocent at the same time.
The lifts finally opened at 11am and we all shuffled to the gates. I was armed with a snowball and got in close behind the scandie boys and got a perfect hit on one of their heads. I am a patient woman...
So, the wait for the lifts was most definitely worth it. Beautiful, fluffy, deep snow everywhere! All untouched. We couldn't believe our eyes.
Second pitch down, the snow was so thick that we basically came to a standstill on one of the flat bits.
fixx grinding to a halt
We lapped the single open chairlift all day, getting fresh tracks for the first hour or so and having the time of our lives! There couldn't have been more than 50 people out there at any one time. And no ESF in sight until about 3pm.
By 1pm, we were frozen and retreated to a restaurant to thaw out but we didn't dally and were back out on the snow.
Throughout the day, our arch enemies (those scandie boys), stole a couple of our lines. Ok, they were quicker and better than us, so fair play to them. After lunch, however, we headed to the not-entirely-secret entries to secret spots where the scandies had not been. But the bastards followed us and were soon skiing the back sides of the hill that we were hoping to keep to ourselves.
Watching fixx dig herself out of snowy holes became a familiar sight throughout the day.
First pitch down, fixx stacked it and had to dig herself out of the snow
Oh look, it's fixx, closely inspecting the snow. Again
