By 'small baffled' are you talking about down/primaloft mids?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Mollerski, I think there were some reports that people were happy with the Salomon equivalent too.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I wear this when its really cold http://www.patagonia.com/eu/enGB/product/mens-nano-puff-hoody?p=84221-0
Plenty of other options from the names you have put up - the Patagonia product it 60gm Primaloft so I d look around that spec equivalent for an "active" layer.
I find a down jacket too warm to ski in but if I was static or higher (my max altitude is c 2400m) then I might go for down (which for me is Uniqlo) but probably waistcoat.
I find the the Patagonia fits fine under my regular shell, doesn't need to be oversized.

My wife has just bought a light down jacket from Uniqlo for £40, which is more in my price range than the Patagonia.

I had a Marmot one which was very nice, but it was stolen I wear a heavyweight HH fleece under my hardshell when it's coldest though.

She's a tiny 4'11", snowboarding instructor working in Verbier. The smallest company issue hardshell jacket swamps her which she is fine with. She teaches kids up to 16yo, there is plenty of standing around in all weathers.
Thanks for the replies.
