I stayed at the Baita Cuisini - a 2* (no lifts) hotel run by a fabulous family just on the edge of town (50m from bus stop). I did hear that it had closed down for refurbishment about 5 years ago and haven't referenced it since.
The food was outstanding in terms of quality and quantity, nice bar too. The place was a little tired/dated and I suspect that was why it closed to the refurb. Rooms and bathrooms were a decent size.
If it is still going, I'd definitely go back.

Their website says "newly refurbished" and it does look very nice. I'd like to go back to Livigno now the kids are big enough for the transfer. I really like it there as does Mrs M.

musher, it doesn't look too bad at all, although seems they've changed to an apartment model with option to have breakfast and/or dinner in the Tavern. Might suit families quite well, I suppose.

The place I used to stay the other end of town used to be like that. The Pineta I think. Not sure they even did dinner, just breakfast, but they did have a good lively bar. Still, plenty of great places to eat out cheaply in Livigno

Stayed there too, in the hotel (not the apartments) and it was very good value for what it was

I staid there Baita del Sole or hotel del sole, and more than 15 times in apartment a front of Dafne pub, nex to ambulance, but lucky we, we didnt use amubulances service no one time  name was Familia Galli or Gally.

La Posta. I stayed there when it was a 3*, now a 4*. Located in the middle of town. Superb in all ways.
