Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Adaptive Instructing in Europe? What qualifications for which countries?

 Poster: A snowHead

So The Lass is determined to follow an Adaptive career in due course.

She has worked in a school for profoundly Autistic children (at the very extreme of the scale) and is an experienced BASI 2 in "normal" skiing.

Just completed Adaptive Level 1 and the trainer is writing to BASI with his recommendation that she be given a waiver over the required hours so that she can book her Adaptive L2 for the coming season.

The ski school she works for in Switz have floated the idea of funding an Adaptive sub-school if she gets L2 and commits to 2 years.

All great so far, but in the longer term she would like to find out what the options are in other countries too.

Does anybody know? Is it the same as "normal" skiing...ie "normal" ISTD plus Adaptive qualifications for France and so on?

Many thanks for any insights.

PS If ISTD is required then that makes PERFECT sense! Obviously Eurotest is a vital safety test for anybody planning to take Adaptive clients out on a sitski!

Sorry to say this but it is ISTD plus adaptive. Exactly the same as for the French. They are required to have their diploma then the adaptive course.
