Thanks for the info Margeret. Assuming off-piste is out of bounds early season, would you say Engelberg offers enough intermediate piste skiing to keep things interesting for 3-days?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

skidm, It depends on the year! First video is from Dec 2012 second one is from Dec 2013, generally it has a very good early season record and normally gets a really good December conditions but I cant make any promises about weather! Its not really a piste resort! Between, the Titlis Side (Main Area) and the Brunni side, there is about 90KM of piste, but the off piste is what its all about there! I should be back out for the season in early December so if you need anything let me know. Not all of the off piste is extreme, plenty of off the side of the piste stuff and little links between areas.
The village is a mix of styles and buildings, its not quite chocolate box but the monastery and some of the early 20th century stuff is quite nice, plenty of off piste activities and entertainment.
Much appreciated Fattes13. That 2nd video is just unbelievable!
What's drawing me to Engelberg are the daily Zurich-Manchester flights and the short transfer. It's possible I'll be doing this trip alone so would spend the majority of the time on-piste honing technique. I guess 90km of pistes is fine for a 3-days trip.
Thanks again.

skidm, I like Engelberg a lot but don't expect to find lots of wide perfectly groomed pistes, it is a good place to hone your bumps technique though.
After all it is free

skidm, I work for one of the ski schools there so if you are out let me know and I can show you around, you can get the beer in at happy hour in exchange!
Some days are just worth it

Cheers Fattes13. Engelberg has made the shortlist. I'll give you a shout if I make it out there.
