Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Grand-Massif season pass discount cutoff 10th Dec - pays for itself in 13 ski days

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I wanted to post this early enough that people have time to think about it before the cutoff date. Read on, even if you don't think you ski enough to justify a season pass.

Until 10th Dec the Grand-Massif season ski pass (covering Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoens, Sixt) is €465 plus an optional €30 for on-mountain insurance = €495 for the season.
(After that it is €930 + €41)

A 6 day ski pass for Grand-Massif is €225 + insurance of €18 = €243
Extra days are €38 + €3 insurance = €41.

That means that 2 X 6 day passes cost €486, only €9 less than a season pass. On your 13th day of skiing in Grand-Massif, the season pass has more than paid for itself.

Further to that (in the past). You also get "awayday" passes to other ski areas, some retailers provide discounts to season pass holders too and the pass also covers some summer activites.

Yes, you're right about awaydays. Full details are downloadable from here:

No Retailer discounts for this winter, but 6 awaydays and some summer activity discounts. Also the option to pay an extra 30 Euros to cover some discount (or Free) summer Grand Massif uplift.

My original post was from last season, but the figures are similar this season and just as compelling.

The thing that has changed for this season, is that they will post your first pass and awayday tickets to you, rather than you having to pick them up in resort, which saves queuing on the first trip. And if you already have the pass, they will post the awaydays.

That is an amazing deal - So wish that Meribel or 3V did something similar. Last year they only gave a discount if you actually live in resort all year.

That is a great deal - probably one of the best going. My Espace Diamant pass cost me usefully less, but the GM has 73km more pistes, and goes higher - though it also goes lower, not so good. That long piste down to Sixt has always been closed when I've skied in Flaine.

Does the Flaine pass include any days in Chamonix? The website is unclear, and just says that there are "special conditions" relating to Chamonix.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

We did that run last year. Nice, but so many flat bits. Shocked
