When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Austrians make ski World Cup history in Levi and winners name their reindeer

The Austrian ski team had their 100th slalom World Cup victory on Sunday. And that wasn't the only history made....Marcel Hirscher won the men's slalom in Levi at the weekend, giving his team their 100th victory. Meanwhile, his team mate Mario Matt also made history by becoming the oldest skier on the podium of a World Cup slalom when he came in second. Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway came third.

Meanwhile, in the ladies' slalom, Mikaela Shiffrin of the USA came first, Maria Hoefl-Riesch (Germany) was second and Tina Maze (Slovenia) was third.

First prize was a reindeer, and Shiffrin named hers - yes, Rudolf. Hirscher has named his Ferdinand after his dad.
