Not stayed at Skier's Lodge but Edelweiss is good with friendly hosts and a cosy bar with a fine range of Robin's whiskies Suspect Skier's Lodge might be a good bet if you want all in guiding package. If you're going over from L2A good instructors should be able to guide you for the main routes but you might have to ask around for a full guide.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

^ Both good options.
The legendary Pelle Lang runs a really nice set up @skierslodge if you want a proper weeks adventure skiing with accommodation + UIAGM guide.
Don't stay in L2A if you actually want to ski in & experience the real La Grave.
It is the wrong side of the hill and the resorts aren't really inter-linked as such.

We stayed in the Castillan. It was fine and by far the shortest walk to the lift.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

^ downsides of the Castillan are very creaky floors and when we stayed there, very cold in the restaurant. Excellent cheese cart though and of course it takes you approximately 30 secs to get back to your room from Apres.

I don't think, from last season, a L2A pass, gives you free skiing in La Grave anyomre. About 20 Euros per day add on.

Have stayed at the Lodge and though it's extremely basic in the rooms the food was excellent and the bar downstairs pretty good too (just try and keep Valone off the guitar!).
I'm not sure you should ever stay in luxury or even comfort in La Grave though; it would lull one into a false sense of security.
