Is carving more tiring than skidding?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Iike to carve turns because I enjoy it, first taught the principle by instructors in Andorra in the 80s. Theres a cross mountain trail in Soldeu that follows the contour of the mountain with many twists & turns, on my old 200cm gs skis I would try to carve it from end to end, going wide, clipping the apex & crapping myself as the carve took me witin a few cm of the edge as I came out of the turn but doggedly holding the carve. Cool
Frewuently, on high speed schusses, I'll put the skis on edge just to keep them more stable & still go just as fast putting a few turns in.
On moderate slopes it is less tiring to carve by flopping the knees over to lock the skis on edge & just hang there, putting no effort at all in.
Once you are a decent standard, the whole right / wrong thing is ballcocks, its about what you enjoy, so many people pursuing perfection when they don't even enjoy what they are wanting to learn, no point in learning perfect carving if you don't enjoy it when you get there.

So ... is someone with a gps and a heart rate monitor going to step up and do back to back runs at the same speed for the sake of science?
