best type of skis for Cervinia resort

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi There;

I am hitting the slops in Cervinia on early feb and was wondering if i should take my skis with me. I have a set of Rossignoll carve skis (170 l) 126/74/105. I was in Japan last year and all I used was fat skis.

Thank you for responding.

Need more info to answer. Do you ski mainly off piste, all mountain or just pistes?

Might be best to rent if you're unsure about ski widths and got on ok in Japan on fatter skis and like off piste be that crud, plate or powder, keep your options open, see what conditions are like in a month. If you're just a piste skier perhaps take your own skis as they sound fine and what's the point of owning if you dont use 'em! wink

Hi Klammertime;

Thank you for the reply. I most likely will stay on the pistes, but in Japan even on the groom areas a fat ski was a must. I will have a look closer to the date (4/02). Thank you again.

Cervinia, like most of Italy, are pretty firm on grooming pistes, so I very much doubt you'll need fat skis on piste. If there's a fair overnight fall or for afternoon crud some all mountain skis might be useful, but for the most part whatever you're comfortable with as a piste ski will likely be best. The ones you have seen fine.

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
