Marker Brake Compatibility and Drilling Question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Does anyone know if brakes from Marker Squire bindings are interchangeable with Marker Tour F10s? If so, is it an easy swap? Also, are the mounting holes for the binding likely to be in a different position, given the same sole length boot? I'm wondering if I'd be able to do a straight swap without a re drill.

Thanks in advance.

Interchangeable brakes - just raise the heel lever, remove the two screws & slide the brake forward off the rail.

Different mounting pattern. Tour has a fixed pattern (in two lengths, small or large based upon the bsl range) & it's fore/aft position on the ski is based upon the bsl. The Squire/Griffon/Jester pattern is different at both the toe/heel from the Tour & is mounted to the bsl.

The Tour is a Squire toe/heel on a frame & is only slightly heavier & a bit taller (but no taller than the average rail mounted binding) so there's no real benefit to be had from swapping to a Squire.

@element, do a google on "binding templates".

You should end up with www.bindingfreedom.com/paper-templates

there is a squire plate and a Tour plate on the site as seperate pdf's, just download, re-size to actual, then check holes on the plates...... should work if you do it right

@spyderjon, thanks for the detailed response - I've Squires on the skis at the minute and I'm swapping to a Tour to open up some ascending options.

@skimastaaah, thanks for that, I'll check it out and see if I'm brave/stupid enough to get the drill out.
