Zusertali, Zurs and the blue from the top of Valfegehrbahn down to Stuben. The piste in the Dolomites that's bordered with little rocks and trees. Can't remember what it's called, but it's really pretty!

1)Folyeres, La Tania in good snow - fun for all the family
2) Marvel in Morillon for the same reason

Nobody has mentioned the Grand Couloir at Courchevel. If I am on my own so don't want to go far off piste I head over there first.
As it's on the piste map I suppose technically it's a piste, but really I think it should be classed as an off piste route. I think it's only on the piste map because Courchevel has little in the way of genuinely black pistes.
It used to be a black piste - not sure if it might be an itinerary now. Heavily used anyway. I think it is good to have one or two black runs that are over 30º over their steepest section, Not many in the Alps are.
If it is classed as a piste and marked as one then it is a piste. Your thinking it shouldn't be is irrelevant. It isn't a groomer, of course, but that isn't part of the definition of a piste. It is a pity that more pistes aren't left unbashed - the way they used to be.
I did mention it as "les goulets". Back then it was not marked as a piste on the piste map. All the couloirs on that side were known as les goulets the name under which people use to refer to them. I reckon it is still the case for some. Grand couloir is one of them. Now you reach them following some jalons. Before there were none of that.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

5. Tommeuses from top down La Daille, Val (early or late, not on chalet hosts day off, Thursday when all the plonkers are out). Stay on left as come down.
Especially when coming to cross the pylones line before reaching the somewhat surelevated part of the piste. Take to extreme left towards trees, cross thalweg to gather momentum then small jump to left to carry you over to highest point (close to pylone) after five meters or so to left before diving into the last 300 metres down to lift station.
Good speed enhancer is also small gradiant at end of tunnel. Not massive but big enough to give you back the speed you might have lost in tunnel turn when snowploughers are trying to make out right or left at exit to take a breather.
Especially if you tag on Chiminee too. You can get seriously quick down P dl'O.

For me, the combo of Piste M, Piste A and Combe Martin down from Soliase is a more satisfying and varied pisted descent into VD than the Face or Epaulle de doodah

Pretty sure it has been done before, but my top 5 have certainly changed since then any way...
1. Hidden Valley in the Dolomites
2-5 (in no particular order):
Lauberhorn (Wengen)
Gran Risa (Alta Badia)
The array of Portovescovo black runs (Arabba)
Plaine Dranse (Chatel)
Melezes (Les Gets), Black run down to Selva, Black run down to Alba would feature in a top 10.

Gorilla - I seem to remember you spent a season in Nendaz?
If so can you help - when you come up the Plan de Fou cable car I see skiers heading up to the right - with the CC behind you (I think the Nendaz free ride was off up that way) - if you go over the top there - how do you get back?
Or am I havering sh*t as usual?
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Ahorn Abfahrt - mayrhofen, perfectly terrifying at speed!

Saslong B drops in under Ciampinoi gondola. No other blacks running into Selva. Saslong A ( World Cup Course) runs into St. Cristina, there's a fork just after you exit the large bowl at the back of Ciampnoi and it starts to go steep.

Marvel at Morillon - 7km green through the trees, great for a post-lunch non-stop belt when the ski schools aren't on it. Also Bergen, which runs off it near the top.

Neither!
Away from Siviez. Basically you come off the cable car and turn right and climb the hill in the opposite direction from the Siviez piste - then over the top.
I quite often climb the hill to the left and there's a great little off piste pitch back down to the Plan de Fou poma but I've never had the b8llocks to climb up to the right.
don't know the name... top of Orelle down the red and then the blue... if the vis is good these are top of list.... if the vis is poo-poo then anything that is tree lined
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The black 27 down from the top mountain star bar in obergurgl/hochgurgl the run is steep and good fun, but it's more about the drink in an amazing bar with awesome views that make it so memorable!

To be fair that's a fantastic run- but the slowness of the chairlifts to get up there ? Unless they've changed them I would just give that whole sector a skip next time I go

I agree that the chairs are slow but it keeps the crowds away and it's an awesome hoon all the way down.

1- Jockeys Courchevel - La Praz. Awesome fun black down through the trees. I love this piste!
2- Tunnel Alpe D'Huez. One of the most famous runs in the world and with good reason. Adrenalin fuelled decent to start opening up into a long run which feels miles from anywhere. The videos don't do it justice as they tend to only show the top 20%.
3- les Rousses/bartavelles/alpette Alpe D'Huez to Oz. The most picturesque crusing red runs I've skied. Choice of blue or black down into Oz. knocks Jerusalem out of the frame in my opinion, as good as Jerusalem is.
4- aiguille rouge/genepi Les Arcs. Top bit of the aiguille rouge then off the edge onto the genepi run down to Arcs 2000. Awesome.
5- face Val D'Isere. Steep, challenging, one of the world's must do runs.
6- Serenne Alpe D'Huez. Beautiful wilderness feel to this one, not that challenging in good conditions, one for the intermediates to get under their belts.

Forgive me if I make an back bottom of names but here goes...
1) The Streif - Kitz
2) Rifelsharte R14 onto R1....all the way down - St Anton
3) Harrakari - Mayrhofen - purely for the laugh.
4) Come De Caron - Nice and high - Val Thorens
5) Kilternan - COS I SAID SO, GET ME???

Bit Laax-centric for me...
Flims/Laax/Falera: The blue from Curnius to Falera - easy peasy, but different every time, with the option of cutting corners off piste, a great warm up and a good Konditorei at the bottom
Flims/Laax/Falera: The long red 10 from the top of La Siala - winding 17 km all the way back down to Flims village - usually quiet and nicely pisted, great views, good variety
Flims/Laax/Falera: Red 18 from Nagens back down to Flims - a great tree-lined run with the odd steep section, passing through rock formations and then a fast run out down to the village, immensely reminiscent of...
La Rosiere: Fontaines Froide, can't better the descriptions above
Val Thorens: a short off-piste bowl to skier's left of the Col red - for purely personal reasons

Flims In Switzerland have a world cup downhill run. I did it once before the lifts opened (seasonaire). Just been bashed, no one else in sight, perfect blue sky morning, squeaky snow.
Run of a life time I think.

Do you mean Citta dei Sassi (City of Rocks) in the area between Selva and Campitello? Not one for the adrenaline junkie; (in fact, it's a bit of a tedious skating/poling job) but it is very pretty, even by Dolomites standards.
+1 for Sasslong, also Cucumelle, Serre Chevalier; and the two reds either side of L'Aiguillette chairlift in the Chantemerle/Briancon sector.

Not too many people find the top part of this with the famous Mausefalle - great fun though, if you do. Sections of it are really off-piste between races.
Blue 35 + Black 25 + Black 26 from the top of Dos de la Pesa down to Marilleva. Did it 7 times on the bounce, and never got bored, in 3 inches of fresh snow while Our Maud took the kids shopping in MdC (happy days). Red 32 (Mastellissima?) wasn't too shabby. Also Blue 2 and the combination of Blue 2 and Red 3 down to Folgarida with my 6 year-old. Don't know who had the widest grin, me or him.
