Author Visually impaired tuition Austria
Poster: A snowHead
Morning all,

I am looking to book 7 nights in Austria for a mixed ability group (novice to intermediate) in January, perhaps Mayrhofen or Soll. One member of our group, my mother, is visually impaired, she is also a beginner. My primary concern is her tuition, what sort of tuition could she recieve? what sort of facilities should I be looking out for? Are there any groups I should get in contact with that could help me out?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Andy

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
Sara, thank you very much for your extremely helpful pm.

Sara, Do you still have my email adress? I was trying to contact you recently but I seem to have an old email for you. Dave W

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
Hi Sara,

I'm looking to go out to Austria with my partner and some friends in early december. Are there any particularly good resorts for VI skiers? I'm VI and like to get a bit of instruction whilst I'm away.

Thanks,

John

You'll need to Register first of course.
Feast, have you tried getting a hold of Dom Jonas. Can't remember the name of his company but he specialises in instruction for VI etc.....We used him (although we're all able bodied - some may argue that point though) in St Anton this year for a lesson on day one. Excellent guy. He is Polish but has lived in UK for number of years, so English is spot on. I still has his mobile number which I can give you if required.

Hi Andy. For your mother I would recommend privet lesson with an adaptive ski instructor (has got an extra specific training in teaching people with disabilities - teaching visually impaired is one of the modules). It will be much more beneficial for her and keeping the stress of learning to minimum. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards, Dom
