As @chocksaway, states, yesterday was a magical day. A new layer of snow everywhere with more than sufficient to give some excellent off piste. The new snow made the previously skied off piste easy but you still had to watch out for the occasional rock waiting to catch you out. Hopefully this morning will be clear and bright before the anticipated storm tonight :~/

@chocksaway, Mr W's pork pie delivery would seem to be less than 100% guaranteed then........... Critical cargo on board and deadlines to make. No pressure then I have arranged for a snowplough to meet you at Albertville and guide you safely and promptly up the mountain. If the snow fall is excessive at Albertville you can stop off at SAF helicopters and they will deliver whilst you spend a day or two in a school gym somewhere :D

It varies in different Countries. It also depends on your interpretation of Ski Hosting/Guiding? Some larger TO's do it through local Ski Schools on certain days of the week. Why do you ask?

Try Snow drone transfers Val D'isere or Mountain sun, Tignes for transfers. The train must be ok as someone in the news recently used it. Obviously no passport controls ;-)

The varying transfer days this year are causing fluctuations in numbers on the pistes! Friday afternoon is normally crazy afternoon but today it seemed pretty calm and quiet :~/ perhaps I was just in the right place at the right time :~/ Not really much to report on the conditions, more sun, more firm pistes. more cannon snow and lots of people enjoying themselves just as it should be :D I am sure @chocksaway, will be along shortly with a weather update but a few more days of sunshine would be appreciated to complete the holiday period. Updated, he beat me to it ;-)

@chocksaway, Hope you stocked up with Sun Tan cream whilst you were back in blighty as you will need it :D More sunshine & warm temperatures today but thankfully not too warm. The pistes are becoming a little polished in certain areas and good edges or good technique are required ;-) Looking like more of the same into the new year :D
You know it makes sense.

@Weathercam, We got some warmer temperatures and wind but nothing which destroyed the pistes/off piste too much. Tignes is a ski resort and as such they are working hard on the pistes each evening to make sure everyone can ski on decent snow. The runs down to Breviere at 1800m are open, although all man made snow or snow imported from higher up. The Greens & blues are being groomed each night but a few of the reds/blacks are only getting the treatment every couple of days. Maybe this is how it should be ;-) Looking like we might get a few flocons next week but only time will tell :D
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

Another Groundhog day :D @chocksaway, will not notice any difference from when he left, good pistes, sunshine & chalky offpiste unless you are prepared to walk a little. @Philip1972, seems to think it is busy but I think next week will be busier for New Year week. The big holiday companies appear to have different transfer days so Friday - Monday seem to be very quiet days. There are a few straight line idiots about but thankfully not too many.

A Merry Christmas to one & all from Tignes. Currently a little overcast with a breeze. A lot of clouds over Grand Motte so maybe a few flocons on high but you will have to wait a day or two to find out as the Cable car is closed due to the wind:( The resort has been very quiet over the past couple of days but lots of new visitors expected Monday.

Off to Tignes on Friday over Christmas week. Grrr, why is it when I go anywhere it always ends up being dry and above average temperatures? The snow & pistes were just fantastic today & warm temperatures were an added bonus :D No need to worry too much unless you are expecting 100 cm of fresh powder ;-)
