Been in cervinia since Sunday night. Blazing sunshine and ridiculous heat. Pretty much everything open here. Fast and frozen morning pistes, becoming a bit slushy and fun around noon, to very torn up and mulchy by late afternoon. However, what an incredible experience, pistes pretty empty, and fantastic fun to being had. Me and my pals feel like we are in heaven. All sunburnt already and 2 days of our trip left. Skied all the way down to zermatt Monday, felt like we had been teleported into another world wandering the streets in full ski gear with people in shorts and t shirts walking about! I don't think I've ever been this content on a holiday. Bring on tomorrow.

Can anyone assist with this. We are driving to Mayrhofen in April and have booked the overnight ferry from newcastle to Amsterdam. However, when we went attempted to load the car in a practice run we found out that we cannot fit everything in the car. Has anyone couriered their skis, and if so who did they use. Might just be cheaper hiring I guess.
And they're a friendly bunch.

First day in the dolomites wearing the mojo. What a difference, I tried a run with it off and my knees were screaming at me. Without it I could not carry on skiing much longer. Zero thigh burn as well. Really, really impressed. Sure it cost a lot, but if I start dividing days skied by it, in a couple of years it will seem a bargain.

@OuchMyKnee, apt username! Yes there is room for braces as well. Having played with them for a while It's really weird when you deactivate the spring and your body weight goes back on your knees.

Finally took the plunge, went had one fitted and purchased. Yet to ski in it, but my first thoughts are it is incredible. Nowhere near as much faffing to put it on as I thought it would be, and boy it takes the weight off your knees. Really cannot wait to hit the hills in it. Feels like cheating.
You know it makes sense.

wrong Noza. All the snow will melt, the runs will turn green and the resorts will have the mountain bike trails open again. Am I doing this right?

@nozawaonsen, he's been doing it for years. He is not going to stop. He is weird. Imagine the thought process behind thinking "in going to try to bum out some random dudes who like snow" and then carry on relentlessly for years! One of the strangest trolls I have encountered on the world wide web.

@Ian_86, Keep looking at all the resorts, other than Cairngorm (busy and badly managed) and the Lecht (journey time from down south). Nevis Range looking awesome and they are opening the top lift at Glencoe today. As kittenski says, keep your eye on the weather, watch for the wind and choose the day before. If you head west you can do both Nevis and Glencoe. Get ready for a hardcore skiing experience, the Alps it aint, but we love it!
