Thanks. If Easter was early again it wouldn’t be an issue and I would make the choice now. Limiting it to Serre che due to sitskiing for my daughter. Not worrying about off piste.

None of us can predict the weather accurately. Would like to go back to Serre Chevalier but Easter holidays for the kids are so late. Wish to avoid half term as our half term is the Paris week and I anticipate Serre Che will be heaving which isn’t great with a sitski. That leaves us with Easter or Christmas. What do you think is the best bet for a reasonable amount of skiing ⛷. This year either/or would have been fine.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Real shame for Steve. Lovely bloke who took some great video footage of me skiing in the sit ski with Sophie.

I'm in favour of chairs gondolas are pants for sitskis. Perhaps they should copy the lift at montgenevre that alternate gondolas and chairs

Had a great week in Serre Chevalier. Many thanks to Ken for putting together a willing band of helpers to assist me skiing with my daughter. Met some great people and had some great times including riding s sit ski in powder for the first time.

Looks very wet snow/ sleet at 1500 metres. Was chucking it down with rain in Briancon a couple of hours ago. Suspect the snow line is around 1700/1800 metres.. Should be a fair amount of new snow higher up
which other snowHeads love to answer.

Lots of snow in Serre Chevalier and more snow above 1900 metres yesterday but rain below. Not much fun skiing lower down by yesterday afternoon. Have kids starting to drag me down black runs  . Woken up this morning and weather looks a little better than expected.
You know it makes sense.

Cheaper to book as a group of two or three than on your own. 6 day pass is 300 for 1, 290 pp for 2 adults and 285pp for 3 adults has to be paid for in one payment.

Plenty of snow today. Skied to about 1530 on our last day until my mate twinged his knee. Jockeys and Jean Blanc in stunning good condition. Spent the morning lappin those two runs. Snow accumulating on the runs as you were skiing them. Lots of fun but would have loved some sunshine.

Today very mixed. Visibility better than earlier in the week but very windy with all the valley links shut. Courchevel app suggested Val Thorens had little if anything open
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Yesterday stunning day on piste and probably off for those that know what they were doing judging by snow on Combe de Caron and one or two other runs which led to an epic day of skiing with over 12000 vertical metres skied and tips to Saint Martin, Meribel, reberrty, Les Menuires Val Thorens, mottaret via Mt Vallon, each of the courchevel villages before our return to La Tania. Didn’t make it to les allures though. Earnt our dinner.

Best snow conditions on piste today. Ankle deep powder first thing poor visibility apart from 20 minutes at the end of the day and dropped in to Meribel. Tamping down with snow in la Tania.

Hi have 3 sets of skis with adjustable bindings all at 176/177 length. Head magnum salomon drive 8.0 ti and atomic nomad crimson. Son has skied about 3.5 weeks so early intermediate. He’s now 6 foot, strong and fit but much lighter than me. He has a 30inch waist. Do you think he could sensibly use any of the above or should we just go for hire skis. Obviously din setting would need to be reduced significantly reflecting his weight and relative skill.

What discounted pass are you being offered. I’ve done this with our tour operator. The full 3v pass is 300 euros but this can be discounted to 285 if 3 of you pay together or 290 if 2 pay together. This time it’s suited us to let the to book the passes. Last year we just paid in the lift pass office
You know it makes sense.

Leave it 10 days and look on line offers. Given snow depths now and forecasts are suggesting significant dumps I think you will be ok in most resorts including those that might not always have the option for you to ski back to the lowest lift stations. Think Ski Miquel were discounting that week. Serre chevalier/ Montgenvre will have plenty of snow so you dont need to rely on glacier resorts this year.

all the long range forecasts seem to be suggesting a snowy week in the 3v starting at the weekend. Do the experts agree? Arriving 11th March. Long range forecasts suggest an interesting transfer day.

KenX may be best bet, but having driven past Briancon gondola its not obvious that there is ski storage at base of gondola, or for that matter a decent sized car park. Montegenvre is nice but not sure I would take the time out from Serre che to visit, unless there is a very easy public transport link, which I'm not aware of.

I’ve skied twice second week of April staying in belle plagne. One year was the best conditions I’ve ever skied in. The typewriter before last wasn’t as good but there was plenty of skiing. I ski there now with an adaptive ski group. Check that the tour operators are still taking bookings that week and is the resort staying open. Subject to that I think there will be enough skiing to keep you happy. The skiing suits intermediate skiing with lots of cruises runs. The villages aren’t very characterless and in one or two cases downright ugly.
